The Baseline Pistol Course is designed for shooters who want more than casual range time. Whether you are newer to firearms or want to strengthen your existing skills, this full-day course provides structured, individualized instruction focused on safe, consistent handgun performance.
Training goes beyond simply repeating drills. Students learn to understand the connection between what they See, what they Feel, and what they Do. Through guided instruction and purposeful live-fire practice, students learn to recognize cause and effect, identify inefficiencies, and make meaningful corrections.
The goal is not only to improve your performance during the course, but to give you a process you can continue using long after the training ends.
What You’ll Learn
- Core handgun fundamentals and firearm safety
- Proper grip, stance, recoil management, and visual focus
- Drawing and safely reholstering from a holster
- Efficient reloads and malfunction management
- Strong-hand and support-hand shooting fundamentals
- How to recognize cause and effect in your performance
- How to evaluate your shooting and make purposeful corrections
Course Details
Price: $400
Schedule: 8:00 AM–approximately 5:00 PM
Lunch: One-hour break, adjusted as needed
Location: Ben Avery Shooting Facility; details provided before class
Certificate: Emailed within 24 hours after completing the course
Required Equipment
- Reliable everyday-carry handgun; full-size recommended
- Quality OWB or IWB holster and sturdy belt
- Minimum of three magazines
- 800 rounds of ammunition
- Eye and ear protection
- Permanent marker
- Appropriate range attire
- Basic firearm-cleaning kit
